| AND … We’re back!
The new year has kicked in full swing for us, so get ready to check out a tejas sized smorgasbord of new images! |
Vu and Ly came prepared to hang out around downtown, but we convinced them to head out to Humble with us and catch the afternoon light. One of our favorite things about shooting in Houston is the hidden locations that, like so many of the people we meet, when searched out are a treasure to find. Vu and Ly didn’t hesitate a second from the unexplored field. They both run endurance races around the country including a number of marathons and the Ironman Triathlon … so a walk in the grass was nothing. We had a great time hanging out and were psyched that they wanted to head out of town with us for a bit.

One of our studioCAPTURE couples, Philip and Arwen, were recently featured in The Knot’s Texas addition for their amazing wedding at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and beautiful reception at the Hilton Post Oak. See their online article, slideshows, and Houston vendor information here or pick up the current issue of The Knot Texas in stores now!
Kira’s birth announcement just arrived today, and it looks fabulous! It’s a 5×5 trifold card featuring some favorites from her newborn portrait session and her birth stats. We had it printed on shimmering pearl paper with a glossy protective finish for an ultra luxurious look. We love designing trifolds because you can get so much more on the card without crowding the design. Plus, it’s one of those cards you get in the mail that is too nice to even think about throwing it away!
Andy and Kristin’s guest book just arrived today. They are going to love it! It looks amazing. I designed it using some of their favorite portraits from their recent engagement session with David. Ever since we started offering these books, our clients and their wedding guests absolutely rave about them. Not only are there beautiful images for guests to flip through but there is more space than a traditional guest book, so guests end up leaving personalized messages to the bride and groom instead of just signing their name. It’s definitely something you might actually want to display on your coffee table after the wedding as opposed to my guest book, which is collecting dust in the back of my closet somewhere! Like our wedding albums, our guests books are flush mount, lay-flat books that are printed on panoramic spreads with no gutter in the middle. Layouts are designed using coordinating images at varying degrees of opacity so that there is plenty of room for guests to sign and leave messages. Check out this sneak peak of Andy and Kristin’s guest book. They haven’t even seen it yet!

As of tomorrow, the holidays are HERE! We hope you have a great day, complete with full plates and game-filled TV’s (if that is your cup of tea, or pumpkin latte).
And while after this weekend you’ll probably of had enough family time to hold you over for a couple months, there will be many more times to get together and share stories before the end of the year. But for those friends and family that are a bit too far away to share some eggnog with, you can still send them a Last Minute Holiday Card. Our cards are custom made, and we use your favorite photos from your wedding or engagement sessions to create either double-sided and folded cards.
Until December 8th, all cards are 10% off. AND you can get FREE envelopes and a Pearl Paper upgrade. Email us at info@studiocapture.com by December 8th for Christmas cards and December 15th for New Years cards. Let us do the design and printing, and you’ll have a bit more time for eggnog.

We crossed our fingers tightly as we boarded our plane heading to D.C. The rain hasn’t stopped pouring down for 5 days straight now and mid 40 degree weather wasn’t helping. Fotunately, Tracey and Kevin’s day really came together perfectly! We started out at the chic W Hotel. After the ceremony, we jumped to some fun images at the Constitution Gardens and watched an amazing array of Chinese Lanterns getting released from The Top of The Town, it made for an awesome time! We hope you enjoy these images as much as we loved shooting it.
