Album Design: Cameo Cover with Premium Leather and Imprinting
0 Comments by admin August 27th, 2010 in Albums, ProductsAh… finally. You’ve chosen your album selections, previewed your proof, and approved it for printing. Fhew! Glad that’s done. But wait! You’re not done! We have an enormous selection of cover options to customize your album for that unique and personalized touch. There are several color options, premium and exotic leather upgrades, name and date imprinting, and a variety of specialty cover mediums. Once your album is approved we fully encourage you to stop by the studio and see our samples and color swatches to help you better select which cover choice is right for you.
Here’s Jon and Sabrina’s album that just came in recently. Its cover features include top grain black leather, a cameo of their favorite portrait, name and date imprinting.
Ben and Feibi’s wedding album is done! It looks absolutely beautiful. They decided on the cameo cover featuring one of their favorite images and name and date imprinting centered directly below. I love that the image is slightly off centered to the right. It breaks up the cover and makes it a bit more interesting. Ben and Feibi had a fabulous ceremony and reception at the Petroleum Club of Houston back in November. The warm colored damask wallpaper and geometric backdrops in and around the ballroom make for some knock-out portrait locations! Their panoramic portrait spreads are absolutely breathtaking!
It’s quite possible that as studioCAPTURE’s album designer extraordinaire (ahem…blush, blush) I spend just as much time photographing finished albums as I do designing them. I love getting finished albums in and pulling them out of their velvety bag. It’s like unwrapping a present. It’s not mine. Half of the time I’ve never even met the couple. But after hours of sorting through their wedding images, editing, and designing their album I feel like I know them. I know every last detail about the bride’s dress, the the decor, the wedding party, who drank a little too much at the reception, who cried the most… It’s like I was there even if it’s not a wedding I helped shoot. Gary and Monica’s big day is a story that stands out in my mind. I love this wedding album. The acrylic cover looks absolutely amazing! The detail shot of them holding hands was perfect for it. What a gorgeous wedding at The Crystal Ballroom. Enjoy…
I am beginning to think that I sometimes get more excited about getting albums in than some of our clients… especially when then end up looking as good as this one. Just a simple 20 page engagement album, but man! It looks amazing! I suggested that Shane and Lyndsay have several spreads printed on metallic paper to enhance the colors and make the detail shots really pop. Normally I’m not a huge fan of printing every page on metallic paper. I think it has its purpose but on select images. The blend of luster and metallic spreads throughout an album has a nice effect. We were able to get some amazing reflective shots through glass doors and windows during this engagement shoot at The Flying Saucer. Even the ring shot reflects of the table nicely. Perfect for metallic spreads! Hopefully, Shane and Lyndsay will be equally as enthusiastic about their album as I am!
Kira’s birth announcement just arrived today, and it looks fabulous! It’s a 5×5 trifold card featuring some favorites from her newborn portrait session and her birth stats. We had it printed on shimmering pearl paper with a glossy protective finish for an ultra luxurious look. We love designing trifolds because you can get so much more on the card without crowding the design. Plus, it’s one of those cards you get in the mail that is too nice to even think about throwing it away!
Andy and Kristin’s guest book just arrived today. They are going to love it! It looks amazing. I designed it using some of their favorite portraits from their recent engagement session with David. Ever since we started offering these books, our clients and their wedding guests absolutely rave about them. Not only are there beautiful images for guests to flip through but there is more space than a traditional guest book, so guests end up leaving personalized messages to the bride and groom instead of just signing their name. It’s definitely something you might actually want to display on your coffee table after the wedding as opposed to my guest book, which is collecting dust in the back of my closet somewhere! Like our wedding albums, our guests books are flush mount, lay-flat books that are printed on panoramic spreads with no gutter in the middle. Layouts are designed using coordinating images at varying degrees of opacity so that there is plenty of room for guests to sign and leave messages. Check out this sneak peak of Andy and Kristin’s guest book. They haven’t even seen it yet!
As of tomorrow, the holidays are HERE! We hope you have a great day, complete with full plates and game-filled TV’s (if that is your cup of tea, or pumpkin latte).
And while after this weekend you’ll probably of had enough family time to hold you over for a couple months, there will be many more times to get together and share stories before the end of the year. But for those friends and family that are a bit too far away to share some eggnog with, you can still send them a Last Minute Holiday Card. Our cards are custom made, and we use your favorite photos from your wedding or engagement sessions to create either double-sided and folded cards.
Until December 8th, all cards are 10% off. AND you can get FREE envelopes and a Pearl Paper upgrade. Email us at info@studiocapture.com by December 8th for Christmas cards and December 15th for New Years cards. Let us do the design and printing, and you’ll have a bit more time for eggnog.
